STS-117/ISS-13A launched and docked to the Space Station bringing up a large new solar array wing for the Station. The mission was important to us as this was Melissa's 1st mission as a "front room" operator during a Shuttle mission and sure sure did pick a good one! As the news reported there were all kinds of Russian computer failures that happened while the Shuttle was docked there. Those Russian computers are very important to the ISS system that Melissa is responsible for while she's working so she and her whole team were working some seriously stressful shifts.

The ISS after the Shuttle left. You can see the big new array on the left side here. The Station now looks symmetric
Because Melissa's group, (the ADCO group - Attitude, Determination and Control Officers) did such a good job working through and recovering from some really bad problems during the Mission they got the honor of hanging the STS-113/13A commemorative plaque in the Flight Control Room. Everyone was proud of them for the job well done.

That caption should read "Congrats to Melissa for getting to hold the plaque!!
Isn't that the goo that gets on your teeth?
Great! Five years of college and she gets to hold a plaque.
Getting to hold the plaque = being well liked and respected by the Flight Directors and Space community (which is good for trying to get promotions!)
I like that "p" word. I'm gonna run out and get me a plaque to hold.
Don't mix up hanging and holding.
