New Wheels

Last week Melissa's CTS decided that after 3 years of fairly faithful service that it didn't want to be part of the Green Family any longer. We picked up a certified pre-owned '08 Cadillac SRX4 as its replacement. It has a lot of great features including remote start and AWD! Click on the album below for some pictures.

Gosh, sorry, we've been busy! It has a 3.6L (VVT)Variable Valve Timing V6 with 255hp and 256ft-lbs of torque. I read that 0-60 time is around 7 seconds, no idea what the top speed is. It has traction control and stabilitrac as well as limited slip in the rear end. The way the stabilitrac works is that if a wheel slips it actually breaks that individual wheel so power is sent to the wheels with traction. That's good for on the road but bad if you were stuck in the ice or snow or sand so in the manual it says if you have to spin the tires to get out of being stuck to turn off the traction control or stabilitrac. The ride is very smooth and quiet and controlled but still sporty feeling for an SUV. It has sport mode on the transmission allowing you to shift up and down manually which is fun. We've been averaging around 16mpg in the city over the first two tanks in it so it's slightly worse than the CTS but it's a bigger vehicle with more options. The 3rd row seats are power folding and the rear hatch is power open and close, (love it!).

Man, that's rude! It's definitly an SUV! It has ground clearance within an inch or so of the Durango.
