Long time coming!

Wow, sorry for the long delay! We've been living life and taking pictures but there seems to be little time to blog these days so we'll spam ya'll with some things we've done in the last month.

Note - you can double click on any slideshow to see the pix at your leisure.

Bolivar fiasco! Ok, so about 3 weekends ago we decided to drive to Galveston with Hope and Scott and Ayden and take the Bolivar ferry across Galveston Bay to the Bolivar peninsula. The afternoon was beautiful sunshiny and warm. We had never taken a car ferry before so it was pretty neat to drive on the boat and the boys had a blast. Here's a map of our route - MAP. Ok, so here's where it gets weird. We drive off the ferry and 300 yards down the road we drive into the creepiest fog you ever saw. Remember it was warm and sunny just prior to this and as we drove into the fog bank we watched the thermometer readout in the Durango drop by 12 degrees! We didn't really have an agenda once we got there other than to find a place to have a picnic lunch so we drove out to the beach and froze our butts off eating lunch and quickly headed back to the ferry. The ride back was completely fogged in and it wasn't till we were within 10 miles of home did it clear out again.

Rob's Birthday - My 30th birthday came and went without much fanfare on the 13th. Melissa and the boys and I went out for dinner and the boys got me a new huge umbrella and a bluetooth headset for my cell phone. Sweeeeeet. However, last Sunday after a cunning plan executed by Melissa, Hope and Scott, I was treated to a surprise paintball party with my friends! I've never played paintball before so I was super excited. Two things I learned, 1- Don't stick your head out for long - even just one eye, you'll get hit! 2 - women have an un-natural talent for guerrilla warfare! watch out!

Finally - Houston Rodeo Run 5 and 10k - Melissa and Hope have been training for this 5k for over a month now and they both did great! Our friends Lisa and Melissa W also ran today in the 10k. Here's some great pics:

You didn't go see the lighthouse? And who is Bolivar?

I read that you can take highway 87 to the bolivar peninsular but that it was destroyed by a hurricane which closed the road permenantly. Only 4 wheel drives can make the trip. Sounds like fun.
