Florida Trip

Wow! what a fun whirlwind trip we had last week. Last Monday evening we all piled in the Caddy and headed for the Kennedy Space Center to watch the STS-119/15A Space Shuttle launch. The launch was originally scheduled for Wednesday evening but ended up getting delayed until Sunday evening. We left Sunday immediatly after the launch on Sunday and arrived back home Monday afternoon around 2pm. We did a lot of driving but saw a lot and had a lot of fun.

Tuesday and Wednesday we staying at the Days Inn in Cocoa Beach, but Thursday morning we went to the Ron Jon resort just up the road. We attended their 1.5 hour timeshare presentation which wasn't too horrible actually and ended up getting 2 free nights stay! The resort was really nice (way nicer than Days Inn) and had a water park and beach access.

Florida Trip

Saturday we got up and drove over to Spring Hill, north of Tampa, to visit Melissa's Grandma and Grandpa Burton's grave sites at St. Andrew's Episcopal church. After that we dropped down to Tampa to spend the afternoon and evening with a former co-worker and good friend, Matt Moore at his house there. Sunday saw us getting up packed up and rolling back towards The Space Coast and we finally got to see the launch! The whole event was super cool and the launch was very very awesome.
