3 Race Catch Up

Melissa has been a running fool these last few months. At the beginning of the year she set a goal of three races early on. The 1st was the Chevron Houston Marathon/Armco Half Marathon/EP5K Race on Jan 18, 2009. She ran the 5k version of this race and here are the results:

The second race was the Hermann Conservatory Park to Park 5 mi Race on Feb 21, 2009. This race started at Discovery Green Park and ended at Hermann Park. Both parks are really fun for adults and kids alike. The boys and I played for an hour or so at Hermann Park after we dropped off Melissa at Discovery Green. After the race was complete we all played for a couple of hours and had a great time. Check out Melissa's results and some pictures and video below.

Fun times in Hermann Park

The 3rd and final race was the Conoco Philips Rodeo Run 10K Race on Feb 28, 2009. This was Melissa's first 10k and she did great! She looked rested even as we cheered her on past the finish line. Luke and Joel and I hung out in front of Minute Maid Park, where the Astros play which right near the finish line. Again, check below for results and pictures

Houston Rodeo Run - Melissa's 1st 10k!

What's pretty cool is that Melissa's times got better per mile on each race she did showing that she's really improving.
