Cadillac woes...

The Cadillac is having computer problems again. Back in November the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) failed and was replaced under warranty. Today the car stalled on Melissa about a 1/2 mile from home. Jon and I were able to push it home. We gave OnStar a call and they said the PCM was shorted... Soooo we had her towed to the dealer tonight. We're not to worried since it should still be covered under warranty, hoever, this is a bit concerning because the warranty will be up in 15k miles! I won't give up on her though, the CTS is the best car in it's class that we've ever driven.

Actually there is an all wheel drive version of the Fusion coming out. I'd say that one would be in the ball park.

That sucks, its frustrating when you like a car but keep having problems with it.

At least you didnt have to push it up any hills! LOL

Jon and I were talking about that on the push back to the house. Glad we weren't in PA and had that happen!

Any news?

Yes, sorry for taking so long to post the results. Turns out the crankshaft position sensor failed. This sensor tells the computer where in it's rotation the crank is so that the computer can send the proper spark and fuel infomation to the ignition and fuel managment systems. If the sensor fails the computer shuts the engine down to protect it. NOT covered under the powertrain warranty. $70 part, 3 hours labor. Yuck....
