Housing update

Ok, it really has been a long time since we gave an update on the new house. We went through a few months there where we were really unhappy with the builder and were just about ready to say, "see ya later," and buy a different house. As of last week they seem to have turned things around and the place is looking pretty good. We expect to close on the 24th or 25th of this month and we have to be out of the rental house by Feb 5.

Here she is. As you can see they agreed to raise the stone higher than they originally installed it. The plans show the stone up the level you see on the left of the house and they had only put it up to where you see it on the right side. I'm sure the brick guys weren't happy to have to go rip stuff out and redo it. Shoulda done it right the first time! The top soil has been put in and the sod should be down next week. Also, the siding and front door have been painted now.

The rear of the house looks quite a bite better since they calked the seams in the siding and painted. Dad, are you ready for some concrete work?


The countertops and backsplash were being installed as we took the pictures.
