February Camping Trip

We're back from our trip to Cagle Recreational Area on Lake Conroe. Boy was it cold! As we were leaving the campground today around 1:30pm the thermometer in the Durango said 31 degrees. Yikes! As we drove the 80 miles south back home the temp slowly creeped up to 41. Here's a couple of pics.

Cold rainy day outside, nice and toasty inside the camper! We are watching The Princess Bride on our new portable DVD player with an extra screen and included is 25 Atari-like games. :) We did have a nice view of the lake which I think makes the trip worth while!

On a slightly different topic there is news in the Green family technological department! With all the stuff we've been doing lately we've really been thinking about getting a camcorder, so this afternoon we finally got one! We got Sony's new Handycam DVD-405 model. The camera actually records video on to DVD disks that you can then just pop into your DVD player and watch, or plug the camera into your computer and transfer the videos to digital format. Cool! It also has a built in flash and can take 3 megapixel still pictures which can be stored on a memory stick or on the DVD disk. Honestly, that was the big selling point for us. A few other neat features include the ablity to record sound in 5.1 channel audio with it's omni-directional microphone and the really sweet Carl Zeiss lens with a 10x optical zoom and up to 120x digital zoom. The next pics you see posted here will probably come from the new camera.
